Refer a Friend - Terms & Conditions
Able Storage Inc.
September 7th, 2026
1. Official Terms and Conditions
1.1. Definitions
“Referrer” means an individual with an open Able Storage rental account when the referral is recorded.“Referred Customer” means an individual who does not have an active Able Storage rental agreement when the referral is recorded.“Eligible Rent” means base monthly rent charged under an Able Storage rental agreement. It excludes deposits, taxes, insurance or protection-plan charges, merchandise, administrative charges, late fees, lien or auction charges, and all other non-rent amounts.
1.2. Qualifying Move-In
A referral qualifies when:
- During the move-in, the Referred Customer identifies the Referrer by name and provides enough information for Able Storage to locate the Referrer’s account.
- Both participants provide the information required under Section 5.10.
- The Referred Customer signs a new rental agreement at a participating location.
- The required move-in payment is successfully processed.
- Able Storage gives the Referred Customer access to the rented storage space.
The move-in date is the date all five events occur.
1.3. When the Credit Is Earned
The Referrer earns one $50 rent credit when the Qualifying Move-In is completed. The Referred Customer’s second monthly payment is not a condition.A later delinquency or move-out by the Referred Customer does not cancel an earned credit.A transaction does not qualify, and an associated credit may be corrected, if the move-in payment is returned or charged back, the rental is voided, or the referral was duplicate, fabricated, fraudulent, or a self-referral.
1.4. Referral Designation
Only one Referrer may receive a credit for a Referred Customer’s move-in. The Referred Customer’s designation during the move-in controls. If two people claim the same referral, Able Storage will use the Referred Customer’s written or recorded designation and the time-stamped rental record.A designation first made after the move-in is not eligible unless reliable records show that the Referred Customer attempted to make the designation during the move-in and an Able Storage employee or system failed to record it.
1.5. Posting the Credit
After a Qualifying Move-In is verified, Able Storage will apply the earned credit to the Referrer’s next eligible future rental charge, subject to the limitations in Sections 5.6 and 5.7.If the Referrer’s account is delinquent or in the lien process, the credit remains pending and is not applied until the Referrer makes the payment required to bring the account current. The account ledger or credit record will show the amount and posting date when the credit is applied.
1.6. How the Credit Is Applied
The credit applies only to an eligible future rental charge and may not be used to reduce a past-due or delinquent balance.A referral credit cannot be applied to a rental month already receiving another promotional rental discount. No more than one $50 referral credit may be applied in the same rental month. If no Eligible Rent is available, or if additional earned credits remain, the unused credit carries forward to the next eligible rental month while the Referrer’s account remains open.If an Eligible Rent charge is less than $50, the unused portion carries forward subject to the same limitations.
1.7. Delinquent Accounts and Lien Accounting
An earned credit is not canceled solely because the Referrer is delinquent, but it remains pending while the account is delinquent or in the lien process. The credit is not posted, applied, or used to reduce the delinquent balance or the amount required to cure the account. When the Referrer pays the full amount required to bring the account current and that payment is completed, Able Storage will apply the credit to the next eligible future rental charge. If the account is closed before it is brought current, the pending credit is canceled under Section 5.8.Able Storage’s lien and collection rights remain governed by the rental agreement and applicable law.
1.8. Account Credit; No Cash Value
The referral benefit is recorded only as a promotional adjustment on the customer’s account ledger. No card, code, certificate, or other stored-value device is issued. The credit may not be sold, assigned, transferred, exchanged, refunded, or redeemed for cash.Any unused or pending referral credit is canceled when all rental agreements on the Referrer’s account are closed, including through move-out.A canceled credit does not remain on the customer profile and cannot be used for a future rental.
1.9. Verification, Denial, and Corrections
Able Storage may verify identity, account ownership, timing, payment status, duplication, and authenticity using ordinary business records. The same objective criteria will be applied to all participants. If a claim is denied or an earned credit is reversed, Able Storage will provide the reason on request and will conduct a good-faith re-review of supporting records.A credit may be reversed only for a returned or charged-back move-in payment, duplicate credit, self-referral, material misrepresentation, fraud, voided rental, or documented posting error.
1.10. Privacy and Communications
The Referrer and Referred Customer must each provide the information reasonably necessary to verify and administer the referral, including:
- Name
- Telephone number
- Email address
- Unit or account number, if assigned
A participant who submits another person’s information represents that they have permission to share it with Able Storage for referral verification and administration.Submission of contact information through this program does not, by itself, constitute consent to receive marketing calls, text messages, or emails.Able Storage will use referral and account information only to administer the program, prevent misuse, maintain records, and comply with law and its applicable privacy notice.Able Storage will not disclose either customer’s payment history, delinquency, unit information, or other private account details to the other participant. It may disclose only whether the referral is pending, approved, denied, or credited.
1.11. Public or Online Endorsements
A participant who posts publicly, including on social media, to obtain referrals must clearly disclose the incentive in the post. For example: “I may receive a $50 Able Storage rent credit if you rent.”Participants may not make false claims, send unsolicited commercial messages on Able Storage’s behalf, or represent that they are Able Storage employees or agents.
1.12. Program Changes
Able Storage may change, suspend, or end the program for future referrals by publishing updated terms with a new effective date.A change will not reduce, delay, cancel, or add conditions to a credit already earned or to a referral already recorded under earlier terms.Immediate suspension of new referrals is permitted when reasonably necessary to address fraud, security, system failure, or a change in law, but timely existing referrals will still be honored under the terms in effect when recorded.
1.13. Earlier Referrals and Inconsistent Advertising
A referral recorded before September 7, 2026, will be honored under the more favorable of these terms or the specific written promotional terms reasonably available when the referral was recorded. All advertising and employee communications should match these terms. If an Able Storage advertisement makes a specific, more favorable promise and a customer reasonably relies on it, Able Storage will honor that promise for the affected referral to the extent allowed by law.
1.14. Other Legal Terms
California law governs the program. The rental agreement separately governs use of the storage space. If these terms conflict with the rental agreement solely about the referral credit, these terms control.Nothing in these terms waives a participant’s nonwaivable rights or remedies. If one provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply.Participants are responsible for taxes, if any, and Able Storage may request information or report a benefit when required by law.
